Dr. Mabrie's Assessment: This nasal fracture exacerbated the nasal hump. During the consultation we discussed the need to repair it within two weeks of the injury before the bones begin to heal in place. She had excellent nasal proportions, good tip definition and projection. Our goal was to lower the convexity and make the profile smooth.
Procedure: A closed-approach rhinoplasty was performed. Using incisions inside the nose, the skin was elevated and the nasal bones were mobilized inward. The area of convexity was carefully filed.
Six Month Follow-Up: Her profile was smooth, similar to her original appearance. The incisions following plastic surgery in San Francisco healed well, without complication. Dr. Mabrie recalls, "Even these straight-forward cases have to be handled meticulously, with care, because the nose is such a visible structure on the face. The smallest details are noticed. In particular, rhinoplasty surgeries have to be handled carefully."
Dr. Mabrie's practice consists of entirely facial procedures, including nasal surgery, anti-aging procedures of the face, facial contouring (dermafillers and implants), and small cancer reconstructions.
