The Limited Facelift is known by a variety of names: Mini-Lift, Mid-Facelift, Young Woman's Lift, and Short-Incision Facelift to name a few. Its purpose is to revitalize the appearance of the face by tightening the skin and removing the appearance of sagging and wrinkles in the mid-face.

Full Facelift | 50s +

You may want to consider a Full Facelift with Dr. Mabrie if you have muscle, skin, and fat that is visibly affected by gravity and aging. Hollows may appear under the eyes with a loss of contour in the cheeks and with sagging and drooping in the jowl area. In San Francisco, a Full Facelift with Dr. Mabrie will restore your youthful look, and provide you with natural results.

Here in the Bay Area, we have a healthy lifestyle and we want our appearance to reflect our healthy choices. However, sometimes no amount of exercise and healthy living can combat the signs of aging. The passing years, sun exposure and stress, can make their mark as wrinkles. Skin begins to lose its firmness and shows laxity, jowls set in and become increasingly prominent. While this process is normal, you don't have to accept it. Instead, men and women can choose a face lift in San Francisco with Dr. David Mabrie.

Am I Good Candidate?

A Liquid Lift is appropriate for patients that are showing the early signs of aging without prominent sagging or laxity of the skin. Patients are typically in the early 30s to 40s with light to moderate wrinkles, volume loss, and visible laugh-lines or brow furrows, looking for rejuvenation without surgery.

How It's Done

After a thorough consultation and exam, Dr. Mabrie will develop a customized treatment plan designed to revitalize your specific signs of aging and meet your goals. Dr. Mabrie will treat the face with dermal fillers such as Restylane, RADIESSE, and JUVÉDERM Injectable Gel. The dermal filler is strategically placed in the face to restore volume and fullness and may be combined with a BOTOX treatment for best results.

What To Expect

It is normal to feel "firmness" at the treatment area for the first few days. Over time, the area will soften, leaving you with a soft natural look. Temporary redness, swelling and bruising may appear after treatment and is normal.

Mini-Lift/Young Woman's lift/ Short-Incision Lift incision is placed in front and behind ear with no incision into hair. The Limited Lift lifts sagging skin along the chin line. There is no scar between the ear and the hair, making the incision more "pony-tail friendly."

Am I Good Candidate?

A Limited Lift is ideal for patients in their 40s and 50s who are starting to see the early signs of aging with drooping and sagging in the lower face, including jowling that may be accompanied by mildly sagging skin.

How It's Done

Dr. David Mabrie performs the Limited Lift by making tiny incisions within the hairline and possibly down to the earlobe. Incision placement depends on the patient, but they are generally placed where they will not likely be seen. Through the incision, Dr. Mabrie repositions the underlying muscle and fat, as well as removes excess skin. The Limited Lift is usually performed in 1 to 4 hours under general anesthesia.

What To Expect

This procedure provides an overall youthful look. After surgery, swelling and bruising are normal. It will take 1 to 2 weeks to get back to feeling comfortable and for most swelling and bruising to subside. During the second week, you can likely get back to your normal social activities and work environment.

Preparing for Surgery

To get ready for your Limited Lift with Dr. Mabrie, enlist the help of a friend or family member to pick you up after surgery and stay with you for the first night. This will help you contend with any lingering woozy feeling from anesthesia. Dr. Mabrie's staff can help you with these arrangements, if you need assistance.

Full Facelift Full Facelift

Full Facelift incision placed in front of and behind ear extending into hair behind ear. The Full Facelift lifts sagging skin along chin line and neck.

How It's Done

Dr. Mabrie performs Full Facelift surgery under general anesthesia. Small incisions are made at the temple and extends behind the natural curve of the ear (hidden in the hair behind the ear or following the hairline) down the nape of the neck. The length of the incision depends on the extent of the correction needed. Dr. Mabrie will adjust and reposition the underlying muscle and fat, before re-draping the skin and removing any excess.

What To Expect

The initial recovery from a Full Facelift is generally 1 to 2 weeks. Swelling, bruising, and tightness are normal. This will improve greatly during the first week, but may take several weeks for you to feel "normal". Most patients return to social activities in the second week.

How Long It Lasts

A Full Facelift offers a permanent advantage in that you'll always look seven to 10 years younger than if you hadn't had surgery. Results depend on your general health, genetics, skin elasticity, quality of skin and the environment. Sun exposure, smoking and significant weight gain and loss can also affect your Facelift results.
