Non-surgical Chin Augmentation
A strong chin is an important element of an attractive face. An ample chin can add definition, help create symmetry and bring balance to facial features.
For individuals with average to moderate chins, Dr. Mabrie performs non-surgical chin augmentation in San Francisco using injectable dermafillers. This technique is a quick and excellent alternative to surgery.
For surgical candidates who are interested in viewing their potential results before undergoing surgery, this non-surgical method is a great first step.
Individuals with severely weak chins are usually better candidates for surgical chin augmentation.
Chin Augmentation and the Aging Face
As we age, the mandible (jawbone) gets smaller, and we begin to lose fat around the mouth and chin. These gradual changes can cause marionette lines, thinning and wrinkling around the lips, as well as contribute to jowling. Injectable fillers can be placed both around the mouth and along the chin to add volume to the face and create a more youthful appearance.
How Is Chin Augmentation Performed?
The Non-surgical Chin Augmentation technique places a dermafiller such as RADIESSE®, JUVÉDERM® or Artefill® under the skin using a needle or microcannula to add volume and projection to the chin.
How Long Will The Results Last?
Dr. Mabrie’s preferred filler is RADIESSE, which lasts up to 1 year with touch-ups at 6-month intervals. For patients who desire short-term results, Dr. Mabrie offers fillers such as Perlane®, which last up to 6 months with touch-ups at 3-month intervals.
In addition to temporary fillers, we also offer Artefill, which provides more permanent results.
Test Run
For patients who are not 100% sure about receiving fillers, Dr. Mabrie can inject saline into the chin to provide a 10-minute illustration of the potential filler results.
