Background:  This young man had considered cosmetic nose surgery in San Francisco for a long time.  He wasn't exactly certain about what changes he want, but he felt his nose didn't quite match his face.  He consulted Dr. Mabrie for surgical options for rhinoplasty using computer imaging.

Dr. Mabrie's Assessment: Frequently, patients have large, undefined noses and they request reduction or increase in definition.  In this case however, his nose had very good definition and fine features.  What we noted using the computer imaging is that his nose could use more support at the tip and could be augmented in the dorsal area.

Procedure:  Open approach rhinoplasty with dorsal augmentation and tip augmentation.  A Gore-Tex implant was used to augment the dorsum.  The patient's own cartilage was used to support the nasal tip.

Three Month Follow-Up: We were immediately thrilled with his post-operative San Francisco nose surgery results!  They actually looked better than the computer generated surgical goals.   As with most dorsal augmentation surgery, his recovery was rapid.
