Background:  This San Francisco mother of two still enjoys a busy and active lifestyle in the Bay Area.  She was increasingly concerned about her appearance in photos.  Her eyes seemed heavy and she felt her face was looking dour and older.  She consulted with Dr. David Mabrie to discuss cosmetic surgery for her eyelids.  She was a little concerned about not looking natural after the surgery.

Dr. Mabrie's Assessment:
This is a very straight-forward case of dermatochalasis (medical term for heavy upper eyelids)   I really enjoy treating this problem because it is a very elegant, very predictable procedure.  During cosmetic eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) I simply outline the excess skin, remove it and sew it together.

Procedure:  Upper Lid Blepharoplasty

6 Month Follow-Up:
She healed very well, with a natural appearing result.  The great thing about this type of surgery (Blepharoplasty) is that it doesn’t change your appearance; it keeps you looking like you used to 10 years ago.
