Tear-Trough Fill

Tear troughs are deep groves that can appear between the lower eyelid and the cheek. Treatment with Restylane, JUVÉDERM, and/or Radiesse can be successful with even the most pronounced tear troughs. How Does It Work?

For some patients, the puffiness and bags beneath their eyes is caused by an excess in fatty tissue protruding from the orbital rim, the bone beneath the eye socket. When this is the case, lower eyelid surgery is the better option, eliminating the bags completely and permanently smoothing and tightening the skin beneath the eyes. For some patients, a combination surgery may be needed, complimenting one another to achieve the best results possible.

What Can I Expect After Treatment?

You may experience some redness, bruising, and swelling in the treatment area. These signs usually go way in a short period and are generally mild. An ice pack can be applied to help reduce swelling. Not all patients experience this, but please know that these effects can occur and are not out of the ordinary.

How Many Treatments Do I Need?

During your consultation, Dr. Mabrie can decide with you the number of treatments and the amount of Restylane, JUVÉDERM, and/or Radiesse is needed in order to provide your maximum results. Typically, 1 to 2 syringes are used to treat the tear troughs and under eye area.

Without touch-up injections, your skin will gradually look like it did before treatment as you near the time period Restylane, JUVÉDERM, or Radiesse lasts. Periodic touch-up injections will help you maintain the look.
