Why Us
Choosing a surgeon to work on your face is a very important decision. Three characteristics which define Dr. Mabrie's practice are his listening skills, his superb medical and surgical training, and his specialization in surgery of the head, face, and neck.
Communication
Graduating from the University of California, San Francisco medical school with honors and having my grandmother 'hood' me is one of the highlights of my career. My grandmother was an excellent communicator.
More than anything Dr. Mabrie understands that two-way dialogue between patient and surgeon is as integral to success as the procedures themselves. His patients frequently describe him as ,'caring and thorough', during all phases of their care.
"Having studied facial surgery techniques and principles for over ten years, I am expert on surgical procedures of the face and neck. Each patient has daily experiences with their own face and, in a very real way, is the expert on their particular face.
Today's cosmetic surgery patient is very savvy and well-informed. They want to have an open discussion about their facial features and ways to improve them. My role is to listen to the desires of each and every patient, learn what they like about their face, and what they would like to improve. I then educate each patient on what procedures are available and explain the benefits and risks of each method."
Medical and Surgical Training, Unparalled Excellence
The Johns Hopkins Hospital, the flaghip of Johns Hopkins Medicine and top-rated hospital in the nation, is known for its excellent faculty, nurses, and staff specializing in every aspect of medical care.
"I have always strived to pursue excellence in my medical endeavors and in my surgical training. I guarantee to give that high standard of care and excellence to my patients."
Focus
Dr. Mabrie is continuing a family tradition, following the footsteps of his father, Dr. Herman J. Mabrie III, a well-respected Head & Neck surgeon in Houston, Texas.
While proportionately a small part of the body, the face is nonetheless a very complex area of our anatomy. Facial surgery demands accurate and appropriate usage of imagery and imagination. As the son of a Head & Neck surgeon in Houston Texas, Dr. Mabrie realized early in his career the importance of a specialized training. He chose to complete a five year surgical residency in Head and Neck Surgery, performing over 2000 surgeries involving the head and neck. He then furthered his surgical training with a one year fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. This specialized training offers Dr. Mabrie an in-depth understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the nose, face, and neck.
By specializing in cosmetic surgery of the facial and neck regions, Dr. Mabrie has focused his training and knowledge and offers his patients the highest level of care in this area. By way of travel, video conferencing, and internet access, Dr. Mabrie stays abreast the latest advances in the field; again, enhancing his commitment to offering the best that is available to his patients.
