Aging and the Lips
As we age, the lips and the tissues around the mouth lose volume as fat, collagen, elastin, and muscle mass diminish. There is less structural support and the mucosa becomes thinner which can cause:
- Wrinkled lips
- Vertical lines framing the mouth (a.k.a. “smoker’s lines”)
- Thinning or flattening of the upper lip and “Cupid’s bow”
- Downward turned corners of the mouth
- Loss of fullness

At Mabrie Facial Institute, we specialize in natural-looking lip fillers that reflects the “San Francisco aesthetic”—fashionable, well-groomed, and above all, subtle and natural. Using lip fillers from the Restylane® and JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® family of products, our Injectors create a soft, balanced, youthful look. We also use a flexible cannula during your treatment for your safety and comfort.
In some cases, we add neuromodulators such as BOTOX® to decrease wrinkles and reduce pursing or tension in this area.

Your Procedure
A rejuvenated mouth brings balance to your look and involves so much more than just full lips. Our San Francisco aesthetic is balanced, subtle, and although you’ll love the results, no one will know that you’ve had lip fillers. To achieve this, your treatment is typically completed over 2 or more appointments.
Initial Appointment
Our highly trained associates take their time to introduce, small, safe quantities of filler so that your results never look artificial or overdone. If neuromodulators are part of your treatment plan, we inject these with a very fine needle at strategic points.
Refinement Appointment

How much does lip filler for wrinkle smoothing cost?
The lip filler procedure typically costs from $1,000 to $2,000 at Mabrie Facial Institute, depending on Injector. If additional syringes are needed, we offer reduced pricing. Qualified borrowers may be eligible for 0% financing for 6 to 12 months through Carecredit.com and Alphaeon.com medical financing.
Do lip fillers hurt?
Most of our lip filler patients report that they are comfortable during their treatment. The fillers we use for lip contouring and rejuvenation are pre-mixed with lidocaine, a local anesthetic. We can also apply numbing cream to temporarily minimize the sensation in your lips. Additionally, the flexible microcannula keeps you safer, less bruised, and more comfortable.
How long does swelling last after lip injections?
Most of the swelling you experience after lip filler injections should go away within about 2 weeks. Some people have a little bit of residual swelling for up to 4 weeks. It is common for lips to swell unevenly, so be patient and keep applying your cool and warm compresses.
How long do lip fillers last?
Visible results from lip augmentation with dermal fillers typically last between 4 to 6 months before requiring a touch-up.
