ABOUT OUR PATIENT
This patient in her 40s came to MFI after experiencing unsatisfactory results from under-eye filler performed elsewhere. She noticed a blueish hue beneath the eyes — known as the Tyndall effect — and felt that the filler made her look older rather than refreshed. During her i360 Full Face assessment with Dr. Mabrie, we focused first on correcting this concern to restore a brighter, more youthful under-eye appearance and align with her goal of looking naturally well-rested.

MFI TREATMENT PLAN
This treatment was part of her i360 Full Face evaluation, which considers the harmony of all facial features when designing a personalized plan. The approach for this case focused on under-eye correction:

  • Hylenex (Filler Dissolver): Two rounds of Hylenex were used to dissolve the previously placed filler under the eyes that had caused unwanted tint and puffiness.
  • Refill the Midface and Under Eye Treatment
Once fully dissolved, volume was restored to the under eye and midface area across 2 appointments. This strategic placement helped smooth the tear troughs, soften shadows, and lift the cheeks for a refreshed and naturally contoured result.

THE OUTCOME
Her eyes now appear naturally refreshed and aligned with the results she had originally hoped for. The shadowing and discoloration are gone, and her look is more rejuvenated without appearing overfilled. She maintains her results with follow-up treatment approximately every 9 to 12 months.
