ABOUT OUR PATIENT
In her 20s, this patient was concerned about fullness along the lower face caused by overactive jaw muscles. Frequent teeth grinding and jaw clenching had led to enlarged masseter muscles — the powerful muscles at the back of the jaw responsible for chewing. Beyond the physical discomfort and headaches this can cause, it can also create a wider, heavier appearance through the lower face.

Her goal was simple: soften the bulk of the jawline and create a more refined facial shape. During consultation, her facial structure was evaluated through the MFI i360 Full Face framework, ensuring that any treatment would vibe with her natural features while preserving balance across the entire face.

MFI TREATMENT PLAN
To address the facial width and jaw tension, Dr. Mabrie designed a focused facial slimming treatment:

Masseter Botox
Botox was strategically injected into the masseter muscles to relax their activity. When these powerful chewing muscles are softened, they gradually reduce in size over time. This treatment not only helps relieve clenching and grinding but also gently narrows the lower face, creating a more tapered and sculpted jawline.

Although this case focused on the masseters, treatment planning followed the principles of the i360 Full Face approach—considering how facial slimming would influence overall balance, cheek projection, and facial proportions.

THE OUTCOME
Over the following weeks, the masseter muscles gradually reduced in size as the Botox took effect. The result is a noticeably slimmer, more refined lower face while maintaining her natural facial balance.

Beyond aesthetics, the treatment also helped relieve the tension associated with clenching and grinding. To maintain this sculpted, relaxed jawline, she returns periodically for maintenance treatments every 4–6 months.
