ABOUT OUR PATIENT
For this patient in her 50s, lip enhancement was never about creating noticeably bigger lips. Over time, she had seen a gradual loss of softness, definition, and natural volume, particularly through the upper lip. She wanted to restore some of what had changed with age while avoiding an obvious “filled” appearance. Her goal was subtle lip rejuvenation: smoother, softer lips with improved shape that still looked completely natural and appropriate for her features.
MFI TREATMENT PLAN
Her lips were also considered as part of her broader i360 Full Face treatment, ensuring the enhancement remained proportional to the rest of her facial rejuvenation. Dr. Mabrie took a conservative, gradual approach, using small amounts of filler over time rather than trying to create the result in a single treatment.
- Lip Rejuvenation: A soft, flexible hyaluronic acid filler was carefully layered to restore age-related volume, improve definition along the lip border, and soften fine lines without creating excessive projection or fullness.
- Under Eyes + Midface: Filler restored support and softened hollowness, helping refresh the central face.
- Cheeks, Chin + Jawline: More supportive fillers were used where additional structure was needed, restoring contour and maintaining balanced proportions throughout the face.
- Corners of the Mouth: Botox relaxed the muscles responsible for downward pull, helping soften the expression around the mouth.
- Masseters: Botox reduced excessive muscle activity and subtly refined lower-face width.
THE OUTCOME
The difference is intentionally subtle. Her lips appear smoother, softly fuller, and more defined, but there is no dramatic change in their natural shape. Fine lines are less noticeable, the upper lip has regained gentle structure, and the lips have a healthier, more hydrated appearance.
Most importantly, the treatment restored rather than reinvented. Even when viewed alongside her broader facial rejuvenation, the lips remain proportional and understated. The result looks less like “lip filler” and more like her own lips from years earlier, refreshed in a way that feels natural to her face.
