One of the top questions our San Francisco patients ask about BOTOX® and fillers is, “How long do they last?”
For BOTOX, the answer is relatively straightforward—most patients enjoy results for about 3 to 4 months, depending on their individual metabolism and treatment goals.
For fillers, the question—and the answer—are a bit more complex. That’s why we take a strategic approach with Illumination 360°, our comprehensive, full-face treatment plan that not only delivers natural-looking results but also helps extend their longevity over time.
While fillers can physically remain in the body for many years, the more important questions are: “How long do the results last?” and “What are the recommended treatment intervals to maintain those results?”
The answers vary from person to person, depending on their physiology, how they metabolize filler, and where they are in their aging process. However, there are general guidelines by anatomical area that help us design the ideal maintenance schedule.

The Importance of Maintenance
The longevity of BOTOX and dermal fillers varies and the duration of your results will be influenced by your anatomy, metabolism, and the product used and area or areas treated. Returning for maintenance visits as recommended in your treatment plan helps extend the results. The reason it’s important to schedule appointments every 6 months or so for maintenance treatments is because our faces continue aging a bit during this time and fillers gradually dissolve.
