You can be young, happy, and relaxed and still have a lined, drooping brow that makes you look angry or fatigued. If you Google solutions, you’ll find expensive creams, masques, and therapies. The internet will tell you there are many BOTOX alternatives for forehead wrinkles, frown lines, and brow lift. But the truth is, when it comes to nonsurgical brow lifting and smoothing, there simply isn’t a better option than neuromodulators like BOTOX, Dysport, and XEOMIN.

At MFI in San Francisco, our BOTOX experts are here to help you understand your options, what works and what doesn’t, and how we can apply neuromodulators to brighten and refresh your upper face—and help you keep it that way.

BOTOX Before and After

Dr. Mabrie and his team of Injectors have been smoothing forehead lines with BOTOX for more than a decade, and the results speak for themselves.

Alternatives to BOTOX for Forehead Wrinkles & Brow Lift

If you’re looking for a way to get rid of forehead lines and wrinkles without surgery, or wondering “How do I stop forehead wrinkles before they set in?” you’ve probably come across (and may have tried) some of these BOTOX alternatives. [Side note: many of these are actually more expensive than our BOTOX for Forehead & Brow procedure]:

  • “Better Than BOTOX” creams
  • Acupuncture
  • Vitamins/supplements
  • FaceXercise
  • Chemical peels/lasers/microneedling

There’s a reason all these treatments bill themselves as “BOTOX alternatives” or “better than BOTOX.” Neuromodulators like BOTOX are the gold standard for rejuvenating the forehead. These other treatments can temporarily plump the skin or make improvements to its surface, but they can’t give you the smoother skin and eyebrow lift that BOTOX does because they don’t get to the cause of forehead wrinkles and sagging.

What Causes Forehead Wrinkles? Why Are My Brows Low?

Everyone gets forehead lines when they look surprised, frown lines when they frown, and lower brows when they squint or scowl. But when they linger, you start to see that tired-looking face in the mirror. Let’s break down the causes so you can more easily understand the cure.

Repeated Facial Expressions

You start frowning, squinting, and making surprised expressions in infancy. And every time you make these expressions, your skin creases in specific areas like across the forehead and between the brows. It makes sense that after decades of living and expressing yourself, those creases become etched into your skin just like a fold or a pleat in fabric.

Overactive Muscles

Strong muscles are a good thing, but sometimes our facial muscles can take their job a little too seriously. Sometimes the muscles get “overtrained” and don’t fully relax. This can cause tension which creates lines or creases on the overlying skin. It can also pull down on the brows, causing them to look heavy or low.

Aging/Stressed Skin

Your skin gets thinner and less resilient as you get older. That’s because fat breaks down, collagen production slows, and facial ligaments lose their elasticity. Add environmental factors like sun exposure, pollutants, and stress, and you get skin that doesn’t “snap back” the way it does when you’re a teenager.

BOTOX for Frown Lines, Low Eyebrows, & Forehead Wrinkles

The reason other popular BOTOX alternatives don’t really work for these concerns is that they don’t address the root causes. Most of them work at the surface level, adding temporary hydration and texture improvements. They may make your skin “glow,” but they can’t erase lines or elevate brows because they don’t treat the underlying muscles.

The expert Injectors at MFI have perfected the subtle but effective application of BOTOX for these concerns with our BOTOX for Forehead & Brow procedure. Here’s how they get you looking refreshed and help you stay that way.

Erase the 11’s

Glabellar lines are sometimes called “elevens” because they’re typically two vertical lines between the eyebrows. But some people have a single line, and others may have three or more creases here. This is one of the most common reasons for seeking BOTOX—because no one wants a permanent frown. Our Injectors carefully and conservatively inject a neuromodulator into the three muscles that cause the lines, and in about a week, you look like your youthful, relaxed self again.

Give Low Brows a Lift

If overactive brow depressor muscles are the cause of your low eyebrows, we can use BOTOX for a nonsurgical brow lift. Our Injectors use BOTOX to disable the depressor muscles, which pull the brows down. This enables the brow elevator muscles to subtly lift the brow, helping you to look refreshed and alert, yet natural.

Smooth Your Forehead

Elevating your brows causes the forehead skin to fold horizontally like an accordion, and eventually you end up with worry lines. We can treat these very successfully with BOTOX, and the results are remarkable. A word of caution: trust this area only to an experienced Injector, or you could end up with drooping eyebrows.
