The 20 Minute San Francisco Rhinoplasty
Many people are dissatisfied with the look of their nose and consider nose surgery, or rhinoplasty, for years, but just can't bring themselves to take that step. Although today's modern facial plastic surgery involves smooth recovery and poses few risks, it's not the right choice for every Bay Area resident. Some people want to avoid anesthesia. Other people with very busy lives feel they can't afford even a few days time out. Some feel they only need a small adjustment and don't believe a surgical procedure is in order.
Until recently, there was no option other than surgery. Today, Dr. Mabrie uses Dermafillers such as ELEVESS®, Radiesse®, JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel, Restylane® and ArteFill® in his San Francisco office to enhance the nose without cutting skin or breaking bones.
Non-Surgical Nose Shaping
ELEVESS, Restylane, JUVÉDERM, Radiesse, and ArteFill, the same Dermafillers used to create volume and definition for the lips, cheeks and chin, can be used to smooth and add definition to the nasal profile. The procedure is prompt and considerably painless, with minimal-to-no downtime needed.
During a 20 minute appointment in our San Francisco or Pinole office, Dr Mabrie will use Dermafillers to augment the nasal dorsum, smooth the nasal hump, and resolve minor asymmetries. Strategically placed, they can also make the nose look straighter from the front. The results will last for several months or permanently, depending on the type of Dermafiller used.
This non-invasive option for nose shaping is not only quick and convenient, the results are also immediate! Unlike a traditional rhinoplasty - where the ultimate shape of the nose is revealed after a short recovery period plus a few weeks for final swelling to subside - patients can walk out of the office and continue the rest if their active day with their reshaped nose already in place.

Nostril Flare Reduction
Many patients feel their nose is wider than they would like in general, while others are happy with their nose when they have a straight face, but feel their nose flares too much when they smile. Dr. Mabrie is able to address each of these concerns using a technique referred to as Nostril Flare Reduction, or Limited Rhinoplasty. This is an in-office procedure that requires local anesthesia only. The procedure will take about half an hour, and you can expect to be "restaurant ready" in 7 to 10 days.
To address the overall width of the nostrils, Dr. Mabrie will make a small incision along the bottom of the nostrils, then bring them closer together using external sutures. For patients who would like to narrow their nostrils only when they smile, Dr. Mabrie uses internal sutures to bring the nostrils closer together and prevent them from flaring when smiling.

Non-Surgical Revision Rhinoplasty Surgery
Revision rhinoplasty can be more difficult than the initial procedure as it requires a doctor with a particular skill set and years of experience. Previous rhinoplasty surgery may have removed much of the underlying cartilage and generated scar tissue, which may pose additional challenges. Specializing in rhinoplasty surgery, Dr. Mabrie has developed a special interest in these challenging cases.
While a second surgery may be needed, non-surgical Dermafillers offer a great alternative to resolve minor asymmetries and imperfections, and to fill in indentations and concavities.

Have your dermafillers performed by a board-certified facial plastic surgeon
As the dermafillers become more advanced, they are playing a more important role in treatment of the aging face. With more areas of application (tear-trough areas under the eyes, and volume replacement in the cheeks) the required skill level of the practitioner has also increased. Dr. Mabrie uses no mid-level technicians and instead performs all anti-aging treatments (BOTOX® Cosmetic, Restylane®, Radiesse®, JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel) himself ensuring consistent results and expert care.
